Step Three: Distribute Your Press Release

There are three primary avenues of distribution which you may want to consider for your news release:

1. Members of the local media.
2. Beyond local media contacts and engaging in a small-scale effort, which you should implement at the very least, you should consider sending your release to members of the media who may be reachable through distribution services. These services can send your release to national, and even international, news outlets.
3. Courtesy "FYI" copies for recipients who are not necessarily in the media. These recipients might include employees, your suppliers, and other individuals who might benefit from knowing about your news.
